Saxophonist and musical omnivore Benjamin Herman has been one of the most productive musicians of his generation for over thirty years. Since the 1990s he has performed across the globe and released more than fifty albums, including with New Cool Collective as well as under his own name as a solo artist.

His remarkably diverse output spans traditional jazz, punk-jazz, and film music. The common thread throughout Herman’s work is his constant search for new ideas and influences, always with his eyes fixed forward.

For his upcoming album The Tokyo Sessions (release in 2026), he dives into Japanese underground culture together with Rotterdam musicians Jimmi Hueting (drums) and Thomas Pol (bass). With his Benjamin Herman Trio, he will offer a preview of this new material for RAUW on Wednesday the 10th of December.
